Laser & Aesthetic Procedures: Clinical Foundations is a self-paced educational course introducing the scientific, safety, and clinical-decision concepts that surround laser and selected aesthetic-device services. It provides didactic preparation only. It does not include live-patient practice, certify device competency, or authorize a learner to perform any procedure.
What you will study
- Foundational skin and hair anatomy, tissue interaction, and patient-assessment concepts
- Laser terminology, device categories, treatment parameters, and the importance of manufacturer instructions for use
- Eye protection, controlled treatment areas, documentation, consent, and general safety systems
- Contraindications, skin-type considerations, medication and history review, and reasons to defer treatment
- Potential complications, including pain, burns, pigment change, scarring, infection, incomplete treatment, and eye injury
- Educational overviews of selected aesthetic modalities, which may include laser, microneedling, tattoo-removal, body-contouring, or related technologies
Who this course is for
This course is intended for licensed healthcare professionals and appropriate clinical team members who want foundational education. The devices and procedures a learner may lawfully use depend on the learner’s license, state, facility, supervision, and the device’s cleared or approved indications.
Before using any device clinically
- Verify current state licensing, scope-of-practice, delegation, supervision, and facility requirements.
- Complete hands-on and device-specific manufacturer training for the exact equipment and indication.
- Demonstrate competency under the oversight required by your employer, insurer, and jurisdiction.
- Follow the device labeling, maintenance, protective-equipment, infection-control, and emergency procedures.
Important: Online education alone is not sufficient preparation for independent device use and does not expand licensure. No certification, patient result, business result, or legal eligibility is guaranteed. Learners must verify current requirements before treating patients.
